Sierra Foothills Cabernet Sauvignon rivals Napa Valley’s Best.
MURPHYS, Ca, June 12, 2008: The Sierra Foothills has not been a name synonymous with Cabernet Sauvignon, until now. Rivaling Napa Valley’s finest Cabernet’s is just what this boutique winery in Murphys intended. Vina Moda Winery continues to receive acclaim for producing a Cabernet Sauvignon that has been compared to those of France’s Bordeaux Region.
After winning a Silver Medal at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition — one of the most prestigious in the State, Vina Moda 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon received a sterling review by Sommelier and co-founder of Appellation America. Vina Moda boasts that their label is, “synonymous with excellence,” and this Cab is definitely proof.
The winemaker, Nathan Vader, specializes in small batch – hand made wines. Nathan utilizes the old world technique of pitch forking every grape cluster onto a sorting table, where all debris and stems are removed from the fruit. All Vina Moda wines are fermented in bins, and softly pressed. In the name of being “green” everything that can be, is done by hand.
Accompanying the Cabernet in Vina Moda’s distinctive tasting line up are a mesmerizing floral Viognier, a complex and deep Petite Sirah, and a Zinfandel made with Certified Organic Fruit.
Pay a visit to Vina Moda Winery & Tasting Room Friday-Sunday from 12pm to 5pm. You can also find Vina Moda on the web at www.vinamoda.com.
